The Fantasy Diamond League is open for Rabat / Marrakesh on Sunday

Doha is in the books, and congrats to the Doha Fantasy Diamond League winner in Matt Wilcott followed by a three-way 2nd place tie of Noah, Ovaltime, and Maria (tiebreakers weren’t received). I’ll be honest — the Rabat Diamond League (actually held in Marrakesh this year) has a tough sell, as it’s competing with the Los Angeles Grand Prix this weekend where many top athletes will be to prepare for the Eugene DL the following week.

Nonetheless, another Diamond League means another Fantasy DL, and there are some interesting entries in the only African meeting of the series. Of note is a hot matchup in the men’s 1500 m between top seed Azeddine Habz, who nearly shares my namesake, and steeplechase world record holder Lamecha Girma who ran 3:29 last year. We can also look forward to Shericka Jackson making her DL debut in the 200 m hoping to end the drought of fast DL women’s sprint times to date this season.
